    In the Wind Farm Zone two abandoned boreholes are identified (NITG numbers BQ040153 and BQ040144, see also PSD, Appendix C, table 4.20). Are there any restrictions for the lay out of the wind farm and installation of monopiles?

        Yes, the following restriction applies:

        • A bufferzone of 100 metres applies, the distance between the center of a (monopile) foundation and these boreholes must be at least 100 metres.

        Furthermore:

        • Overhanging of turbine blades in the bufferzone of an abandoned borehole (well) is allowed;
        • Rock dumping as scour protection for the (monopile) foundation(s) is allowed, assuming that the scour protection has a diameter of <25 metres;
        • Jack up operations in the bufferzone are allowed, with the condition that the legs will not be placed on the borehole.
