Cajsa Hermansson (MMT Sweden AB), Vasco Valadares (Geosurveys) and Peter-Paul Lebbink (Netherlands Enterprise Agency, RVO) will guide you through the Geophysical Campaign Ten noorden van de Waddeneilanden Wind Farm Zone  (TNWWFZ) based on geophysical data.

The purpose of this study was to provide insight into any geophysical aspects that may have an impact on the development of the TNWWFZ. To meet this goal a full geophysical site survey was performed and followed by a 3D UHRS in an small area of interest to complete the campaign in the year of 2019. The gathering of geophysical data was subsequently processed, interpreted and reported.

A panel of the following experts: Jacob Laken (MMT Sweden AB), Henrique Duarte (Geosurveys) Neil Dyer (Cathie Associates) & Michel Vrolijk (Netherlands Enterprise Agency, RVO) will be present to answer any questions on the Geophysical Campaign

Geophysical survey

Two survey campaigns were performed. The first campaign using MBES, SSS, MAG, SBP and 2D UHRS covering the full ~120 km2 site was executed between 11 July to 26 August 2019. A second campaign was added, using MBES and 3D UHRS, covered a smaller area ~6 km2 located at the proposed OSS was performed 23 October to 08 November in the same year.

A total of 198 individual 2D seismic sections adding up to around 2200 km and a 4150x1500 m 3D seismic block were acquired and processed in order to image the subsurface geology down to a depth of more than 100 m below the seabed.

The geophysical site survey at the Ten noorden van de Waddeneilanden Wind Farm Zone (TNWWFZ) was designed to improve the bathymetric, morphological and geological understanding of the area by obtaining detailed seabed and sub seabed information. The information could then be used to aid geotechnical investigations and also be integrated into a ground model used for the design and installation requirements for offshore wind farms at the site.
